Dorsey’s Vice President of Construction, John “Danny” Boyd, Jr. announced the commencement of construction this week. The Mississippi and Colorado locations are the first to be built in-house by Dorsey’s Construction Team.  Both locations will be delivered to Dollar General for openings this year.

Boyd also announced the completion of two other locations for Dollar General:  Walker and Belle Chase, Louisiana – delivered on time and on-budget.

Dorsey provides BTS services for the Dollar General Corporation in Louisiana, Mississippi and Colorado – delivering more than 100 BTS locations to date.

Dorsey Development congratulates Meghan Reed (pictured on right) on her recent initiation into the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #30, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Elks is one of the largest and most active fraternal organization in the United States. Elks invest in their communities through programs that help the youth, the needy, Veteran Services and other benevolent activities. [ Visit Elks #30]

Meghan is excited to give back to the community and participate in the various organizations the Elks sponsor. With the help of fellow Dorsey employees, Caffrey Favrot and Edwin Voltolina, Meghan organized her first fundraising event, preparing dinner for the members at Lodge #30. The dinner was a huge success and all proceeds went towards the building fund for the Lodge.

Members of Dorsey Development’s QSR Program attended the Restaurant Finance Development Conference (RFDC) annual convention in Las Vegas – held at the Wynn Hotel on November 12-14.  Top lenders, brokers, investors, and developers met to discuss the state of the industry and to discuss capital needs for restaurant growth.

The QSR sector is experiencing continued growth in units.  National and regional brands continue to sign multiunit franchise agreements with new operators for restaurant openings – typically for openings during the next five years.

Dorsey, who exhibited at its booth, met with potential clients about its QSR BTS Program (for corporate and franchise units).  The program is scalable and tailored to the specific needs of each client. Attending were: Caffrey Favrot, VP of Development and former 19-year veteran of McDonald’s heads the program and Greg Wolfe, Dorsey’s CFO.

Recent participants in Dorsey’s QSR BTS Program include:  Burger King and El Pollo Loco.

Dorsey Development congratulates Ed Voltolina, Permit Specialist, [pictured right] on his recent graduation from the New Orleans Division of the FBI Citizens Academy.  The Academy is a community outreach program developed by the FBI to educate citizens on the day-to-day operation of the different divisions within the Agency.

Over a 7-week period, the class enjoyed presentations by division heads, including case studies and question and answer periods.  The last class was a “range day” where the class was able to fire weapons, participate in forensic activities, and observe a demolitions and explosives presentation.

After graduation, the class is able to join the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association.  The Association participates in community outreach and charitable activities geared toward educating the public on the job the men and women of the FBI do in keeping us safe.
